Awards
AWARDS AND PRIZES FOR QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
The Awards and Prize for Qualitative Research will be presented at the Biennial Conference of the Association for Qualitative Research 2007. Nominations are being accepted for the following:
1. The Caulley Award for the Best Journal Article on Qualitative Research
The Criteria for the Award are as follows:
- The topic of the article must be substantially devoted to qualitative research, whether it is a report of a piece of qualitative research or a discussion of qualitative research and its methodologies.
- The article must be originally written in English and no translation will be accepted
- The written English must be elegant and clear
- The article must be in some sense pioneering
- The article must have been published in a refereed journal
- The article does not have to be published in a journal devoted to qualitative research
- The article can be published anywhere in the world
- The article has been published in the two years preceding the year of the 2007 Biennial Conference (ie published in 2005 or 2006).
The Award will be a plaque plus an amount of $AUD250. The Award will be announced at the Biennial Conference. The judges will be the Executive Committee of the Association for Qualitative Research whose decision will be final.
An article may be nominated by the author or authors, or a person who is not an author of the article. The nominator should submit by email, an electronic copy of the paper and must include proof that the journal in which article was published is a refereed journal.
2. The Caulley Award for the Best Refereed Paper presented at the Biennial Conference by a Doctoral Candidate
The Criteria for the Award are as follows:
- The topic of the paper must be substantially devoted to qualitative research, whether it is a report of a piece of qualitative research or a discussion of qualitative research and its methodologies.
- The paper must be originally written in English
- The written English must be elegant and clear
- The paper must be in some sense pioneering
- The paper must not have been published previously
- The paper must have passed the Conference refereeing process
- The doctoral candidate must be the sole author.
The Award will be a plaque plus an amount of $AUD250. The Award will be announced at the Biennial Conference. The judges will be members of the Conference Organising Committee which may also be the Executive Committee of the Association for Qualitative Research.
3. The QSR Prize for Best Paper presented at the Biennial Conference
The Criteria for the Prize is as follows:
- The paper refers extensively to the use of QSR software in the research process
- The paper must be originally written in English
- The written English must be elegant and clear
- The paper must have passed the Conference refereeing process
The Prize is of substantial value and will include the Nvivo7 product with an unlimited license and a maintenance agreement. This Prize will be announced at the Biennial Conference. The judges will be members of the Conference Organising Committee. The paper may be nominated by the author(s) or a person who is not an author of the paper. The nominator should submit by email, an electronic copy of the paper.
